Retailers finally reap the benefits of direct printing on honeycomb board

The company that originally inspired the concept of digital printing direct onto lightweight honeycomb panels has finally seen its idea come to fruition – because the printing technology has caught up.

When lightweight materials specialists Quinton & Kaines first recognised the potential cost and quality benefits of printing direct onto a specially developed version of its honeycomb product, the required standard of finish could not be achieved using the flatbed printers current at that time.

Today, the high-tech printing surface developed by Quinton & Kaines for its ‘On-Board’ panels combine with the latest digital printers to produce superb results. No surprise, therefore, that retail groups are starting to reap the benefits offered by this new capability.

In one instance, some 150 graphic panels, each 30mm thick and measuring 2400 x 1200mm, have been installed as a giant frieze, presenting the store in question and its different departments, with photographic examples of the products on sale.
